Living in an apartment with a dog is often a challenge, especially when that dog was bred to run full tilt for 12 hours a day! As someone living with a border collie, I often get stressed out about finding enough for him to do. I'm sure other people with herding dogs feel the same and I figure it might be fun to get together and do things with our energetic companions. This purpose of this meetup group is to meet other border collie (and similar breed) lovers, learn about training techniques an …

Something that all dogs need: Exercise, Walks & Mental Stimulation!! Pooky's club was originally established in 2003 as a "cockers" only meetup. I created it to exercise & socialize my "reactive" dog around other dogs & to meet other cocker owners in the area who love the breed as much as I do. Soon thereafter, people started contacting me saying that they didnt have a cocker, but could they come pleazzzze? So effective 2006 I changed it to Pooky's All Breed Dog Walking Club! All breeds & age …

The reason for my starting this group-I am a stay at home mom with an 11 month old daughter and a 9 year old Chihuahua who is also like my baby. I have found since my daughter was born last May, I have spent a little less time with my fur baby. So my thought was to create a group where we can meet at a local park with our babies and dogs and go for walks/hikes as well as get to know other Moms with like interests.
